Trump Decries Vote Counting Process in Georgia

President Donald J. Trump is closely monitoring the election results in Georgia’s U.S. Senate runoff from Tuesday night, and decried several instances of possible malfeasance in the vote counting process.

“Looks like they are setting up a big ‘voter dump’ against the Republican candidates. Waiting to see how many votes they need?” he tweeted at 10:28pm.

Nearly two hours later, he tweeted about Fulton County, home to Atlanta, where there was major controversy in counting the votes from the November 3 election.

“Just happened to have found another 4000 ballots from Fulton County. Here we go!” he said.

At State Farm Arena in Atlanta, election workers tasked with counting absentee ballots were sent home for an extended period of time after a “pipe burst,” causing a delay in counting on November 3. One election worker, Bridget Thorne, testified under oath via affidavit that ballots were mishandled at that facility, as reported by the The Georgia Star NewsAs a punitive measure for her whistleblowing, Thorne was barred from working Tuesday’s runoff.

Questions have also swirled around Georgia’s absentee ballot drop boxes.

As reported by The Georgia Star News, the state may have broken its own election code with how it handled the ballots picked up from the drop boxes on November 3.

Trump also retweeted Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany’s observation that Chatham County, which leans heavily blue, stopped counting votes in the middle of the night.

“Why are they stopping the vote count in Democrat Chatham county, Georgia? This sounds familiar!” she said at 11:40pm.

In several states, including Georgia, but perhaps most notably in Wisconsin and Michigan, vote counting was paused only for sudden influxes of ballots allegedly cast for former Vice President Joe Biden to be added to his vote total in the early morning hours of November 4.

Early Wednesday morning, Trump tweeted that 50,000 ballots were similarly found during Tuesday’s vote counting process.

“They just happened to find 50,000 ballots late last night. The USA is embarrassed by fools. Our Election Process is worse than that of third world countries!” he said.

Trump also claimed that election officials are currently in the process of rigging the race between Sen. David Perdue (R-GA), and Democrat challenger Jon Ossoff.

“These scoundrels are only toying with the [Senator David Perdue] (a great guy) vote. Just didn’t want to announce quite yet. They’ve got as many ballots as are necessary. Rigged Election!” he said.

Twitter has slapped it’s customary label on all of Trump’s tweets about the vote counting in Georgia, claiming that Trump’s assertions of election fraud are “disputed.”

But upon clicking the the link attached to Twitter’s label, the user is directed to a page with a general message about voter fraud.

“There is no evidence of widespread voter fraud in the 2020 US presidential election, government officials and election experts confirm,” that page says.

It provides no evidence to prove that Trump’s claims about the counting process in Georgia are meritless.

Certain media outlets have declared Democrat Raphael Warnock the winner of his race against Sen. Kelly Loeffler (R-GA). Loeffler has not conceded, and has demanded every “legal vote” be counted, borrowing a line often used by Trump himself over the past two months.

Media outlets do not have the authority to officially declare a winner in an election.

Meanwhile, Perdue and Ossoff continue to duke it out in a race that is too close to call.
