Commentary: Democrats Want to Destroy Your Children

by George Rasley

No, this is not another Qanon or Pizzagate conspiracy theory. It’s a sober recitation of the facts and incidents that can support no other conclusion.

Let’s start with one important stage-setting fact: According to OpenSecrets.org two organizations account for practically all of the contributions made by teachers unions: The National Education Association (about $20 million in 2016) and the American Federation of Teachers (almost $12 million). Both groups — which compete for members, but also collaborate with each other through the NEA-AFT Partnership — are consistently among the organizations that contribute the most money to candidates and political groups. From 2004 to 2016, their donations grew from $4.3 million to more than $32 million — an all-time high.

Even more than most labor unions, they have little use for Republicans, giving Democrats at least 94 percent of the funds they contributed to candidates and parties since as far back as 1990, where the Open Secrets’ data begins. Go here for a detailed breakdown of teachers union political giving.

So, the tie between Democrats and unionized teachers is undeniable, as is the fact that Far Left teachers are the shock troops in the Left’s war on our children.

Teachers are at the forefront of the effort to convince children that they suffer from sexual confusion and gender dysphoria and to sell children on the idea that they can and should submit to so-called gender reassignment without parental consent.

In my home state of Florida numerous school districts have been caught encouraging gender dysphoria in very young children and then hiding their handiwork from parents by creating a dual system of identities (one identity in school for the confused student with teachers and students and a separate identity based on the biological sex of the child when communicating with the parents.)

The Florida Citizens Alliance has documented evidence of this in Clay County where a 12 year old girl tried repeatedly to hang herself (see article “Insane! Florida School Counseled A 12-Year-Old Girl Affirming Her Transgender Identity And Parents Weren’t Aware Of It Until Their Daughter Tried To Commit Suicide”). This dual personality approach is also evident in Leon, Lee and Collier County and most likely much more widespread.

Teachers, defended by Democrat politicians, are also at the forefront of the increasingly intense effort to normalize sexual deviance, including pedophilia and homosexuality.

School media centers are full of books such as Two Boys Kissing by David Levithan, And Tango Makes Three by Justin Richardson and Peter Parnell, Trans+ by Kathryn Gonzales and Karen Rayne, and The Gender Quest Workbook: A Guide For Teens And Young Adults Exploring Gender Identity, Rylan Jay Testa, Deborah Coolhart and Jayme Peta.

Gender Queer: A Memoir by Maia Kobabe has been spotted in school libraries in Florida, Ohio, North Carolina, Virginia, and Rhode Island. The book contains animated images of minors performing pornographic, sexual acts.

The School Library Journal has promoted the book and Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) also supports the distribution of Gender Queer in public schools. YALSA even granted its “Alex Award” to the book, an accolade given to books that have “special appeal to young adults ages 12 through 18.”

“Kobabe’s path to understanding … gender and sexuality comes into beautiful focus in this graphic memoir, expressively illustrated with retro colors and simple lines. Readers will recognize a kindred spirit in Kobabe and/or gain insight into what it’s like to identify outside of the cisgender/heterosexual ‘norm,'” YALSA said in its review reported CBN News.

Teachers and Leftist School Administrators and School Boards do their best to hide these books from parents and when they are caught, they typically put the books “under review” and then quietly slip them back into the libraries. It has gotten so bad in some states that parents have been forced to sue under state sunshine laws or state Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) to find out if books on the porn list are in their child’s school.

While Republicans and conservative organizations and parents regularly object to these age-inappropriate books Democrats defend them and claim objecting parents are imposing censorship. But it’s not just through books that Far Left Democrat teachers are making war on your children.

K-12 schools across the country are bringing in drag queens to teach gender ideology. The Heritage Foundation’s Daily Signal reported, “Teachers are praising ‘Drag Queen Story Hour,’ according to a video clip released by videographer Sean Fitzgerald and the David Horowitz Freedom Center. The program ‘captures the imagination and play of the gender fluidity of childhood and gives kids glamorous, positive, and unabashedly queer role models.’”

First grade teacher Alexis Hernandez marveled at the event in a testimonial published on Drag Queen Story Hour’s website. “Drag Queen Story Hour gave my first-graders a fun and interactive platform to talk and think about social and emotional issues like acceptance, being yourself, and loving who you are,” Hernandez said. “During our debrief … [students] were preaching the incredible lessons they had learned, like ‘It’s OK to be different,’ and ‘There’s no such thing as “boy” and “girl” things.’”

By the way, Drag Queen Story Hour markets itself to children between 3 and 8 years old and it has a “program reading list” that includes books like “Jacob’s New Dress” by Sarah and Ian Hoffman and “Red: A Crayon’s Story” by Michael Hall. While the former book’s plot revolves around a boy convincing his parents to let him wear a dress to school, the latter chronicles the journey of a crayon “mistakenly labeled” red to identify successfully as blue.

But we shouldn’t be surprised at this taxpayer-funded indoctrination of our young children, because our universities are teaching our teachers that sexual deviance should be normalized and evening redefining our language to make it easier to do so.

As Spencer Lindquist wrote for the Federalist in “Transgender Professor At Old Dominion University Rebrands Pedophiles As ‘Minor-Attracted Persons’:

After witnessing Twix’s latest ad or hearing about Sex Offender Story Time, you might have mistakenly assumed that the left’s push to sexualize children and normalize pedophilia couldn’t be any more blatant. But alas, the word “restraint” isn’t in the vocabulary of those whose insatiable hunger for the most potent forms of moral rot have driven them to take bites out of the few remaining taboos that we haven’t “progressed” past quite yet.

The latest attempt to normalize pedophilia comes from Allyn Walker, an assistant professor at Old Dominion University who uses the nonsensical pronouns “they/them” and has advocated for pedophilia to be “destigmatized,” calling for pedophiles to instead be referred to with the insultingly euphemistic term “minor attracted persons.”

And yes, you read that right, sex offenders are allowed to participate in these taxpayer-funded infomercials for deviancy.

And these policies that Far Left teachers advocate and Democrat politicians implement lead to real life environments that harm individual children. For example, in implementing “transgender affirming” policies in schools.

Many readers will be familiar with the saga of Scott Smith who was arrested for disorderly conduct and obstruction of justice in June at a School Board meeting at Loudon County Public Schools. In May, his 9th-grade daughter was sexually assaulted inside a bathroom by a “transgender” student at Stone Bridge High School and the attacker has been found guilty of two counts of forcible sodomy.

Mr. Smith understandably flew into a rage when Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) Superintendent Scott Ziegler declared that “the predator transgender student or person simply does not exist,” and that to his knowledge, “we don’t have any record of assaults occurring in our restrooms,” The Daily Wire reported.

Mr. Smith then ran afoul of Loudoun County’s Democrat political establishment and the deep political and personal ties between Democrat School Board members, the teachers union and Far Left Democrat Loudoun County Commonwealth’s Attorney Buta Biberaj. And while Mr. Smith was found guilty of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, his daughter’s assailant (also found guilty of other sexual assaults) got a minimal juvenile sentence courtesy of Loudoun County’s Democrat prosecutor, who showed up to plead the case against Mr. Smith personally.

But it isn’t just in matters of human biology and traditional western sexual mores that teachers are warring on your children. Teachers and teachers unions are the driving force behind the educational and developmental disaster visited on children during the two-plus years of the COVID health emergency.

In my home state of Florida and elsewhere Democrat-aligned teachers unions have held protests demanding school boards implement mask mandates in defiance of state law and Republican Governor Ron DeSantis’s executive order prohibiting them, citing Florida’s Parents Bill of Rights law as confirming that parents, not education bureaucrats have the final word in such matters.

In “Teachers Unions Are Again Flexing Their Political Muscle, This Time On Mandatory Masking” CATO Scholar Kerry McDonald explained that, despite the scientific evidence of the damage masking does to children, and the scientific evidence that masks are ineffective in preventing the spread of COVID, Teachers Unions have lined up to support mandatory masking in schools, even for preschoolers.

Reported Ms. McDonald:

The push for universal, mandatory masking in schools this fall, regardless of vaccination status, comes as new research shows a correlation between the strength of a local teachers union and the likelihood of a school district imposing a mask mandate.

“We found that a 1-standard-deviation increase in the teachers’ unionization rate was associated with a 12.5 percent relative increase in the probability that a school district adopted a mask mandate,” researchers reported this month in Health Affairs.

These new findings echo related research during the previous academic year showing that teacher union influence was directly related to whether or not schools reopened for full-time, in-person learning. In October 2020, Brown University researchers concluded that teacher unions played an outsized role in school reopening decisions, stating that “politics, far more than science, shaped school district decision-making.”

In March 2021, a different set of researchers reached a similar conclusion. “Our findings that school closures are uncorrelated with the actual incidence of the virus, but are rather strongly associated with unionization, implies that the decision to close schools has been a political—not scientific—decision,” Corey DeAngelis and Christos Makridis wrote in their paper published in Social Science Quarterly.

DeAngelis has been an outspoken critic of the teachers unions, including their new push to mandate masks. “Teachers unions benefit from this constant state of school system disorder because they can use the chaos as leverage to argue for more taxpayer resources to return to normalcy,” he told Ms. McDonald.

DeAngelis says leaving children in the clutches of unaccountable teachers unions is a form of state-sanctioned child abuse.

However, when parents fight back against these outrageous assaults on their child’s mental and physical wellbeing, teachers and their Democrat allies can be guaranteed to use every bit of their considerable power against the parents, and against the children who are caught in the middle.

In California maskless students were “barricaded” inside their school’s gym with lunch tables propped against the door and temperatures turned down as they protested Democrat Gov. Gavin Newsom’s mask mandate.

A photo from one of the students at the Oakdale Joint Unified School District captioned, “Locking us in,” shows tables blocking the doors from the inside, school staffers could be seen standing by on the outside.

Students also claimed staff members turned down the thermostat to “freeze them out,” according to Reopen California Schools and that it was only turned up when police arrived, and they were allowed out.

Back in Democrat-controlled Loudoun County Public Schools in Virginia, 29 students were suspended after they refused to follow the schools’ mask mandate. The school board voted to uphold the mask mandate for all of the schools in the county, despite newly inaugurated Republican Governor Glenn Youngkin’s executive order allowing parents to choose.

There was a time when teachers were among the most respected members of their communities and central figures in building strong communities and a strong America, today Far Left unionized teachers and their Democrat political allies are the leaders of assaults on the health and innocence of children and undermining traditional values.

We urge CHQ readers and friends to fight back – use your state Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) to find out if books on the porn list compiled by the Florida Citizens Alliance are in your child’s school. Join Moms for America and Moms for Liberty to fight mask mandates and other destructive school policies, such as Critical Race Theory. And demand that your school boards and state legislatures act to prohibit sexually explicit content and sexual deviancy in your public schools. We guarantee if you do you will find unionized teachers and Democrat politicians on the other side.
