IL-11 Republican Challenger Jerry Evans Responds to National Republican Congressional Committee Adding District to Target List

Illinois 11th Congressional District challenger Jerry Evans responded to news that the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) added the district to the Democrat incumbent target list.

In a statement issued to The Star News Network, Evans said, “The NRCC adding Illinois’ 11th Congressional District to their list confirms what we have seen all along. Illinoisans have had enough of Joe Biden’s dismal economy, catastrophic foreign policy, and undeniable incompetence. They no longer wish to be represented by Biden yes-men like Bill Foster. They want a Representative who will go to Washington and fight for them, not kowtow to Nancy Pelosi and the far-left fringes of the Democratic Party. With a strong fundraising record, significant national press, and an elite team, my campaign is well positioned to finally retire Bill Foster.”

The NRCC is the campaign arm of the House Republican Conference and is dedicated to securing a Republican majority in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Evans is a music teacher, small business owner, and Christian. Sources say that Evans is expected to show a strong Federal Election Commission fundraising report for the 2022 first quarter, which will be released in mid-April. He entered the race on January 26 so his campaign did not have to file a fundraising report for the December 31, 2021 deadline.

On his website, Evans says “I am committed to defending freedom and living a lifestyle of authentic service. Principled leadership starts with service, and ends with compassion. That is why am dedicated to several important policies in my commitment to Illinois and America.”

His list of policies includes protecting the unborn from infanticide, freedom against socialism, the commitment to a free economy through less regulation and tax cuts, protecting personal freedom and religious liberty, a properly functioning health care system, and ending human trafficking in our generation, issues he says are important to him.

Other candidates in the Republican primary, which is scheduled to occur on June 28, include 2020 IL-14 GOP primary candidate Catalina Lauf, businessman Krishna Bansal, attorney Mark Carroll, realtor Andrea Heeg, and victim’s advocate Cassandra Tanner Miller.

IL-11 is currently represented by U.S. Representative Bill Foster (D-IL-11). He has served as the U.S. Representative for the 11th district since 2013. He previously served as the U.S. Representative for IL-14 from 2008-2011. Foster is a rubber-stamp for the Biden agenda. Nate Silver’s FiveThirtyEight vote tracker shows that he has voted with the Biden administration 100 percent of the time.
