President Trump Makes a Surprise Visit to Say Thank You to the Supporters Gathered Outside Walter Reed

President Donald Trump briefly left the hospital Sunday in his car to wave to supporters gathered outside.

The president’s visit came shortly after he promised his supporters “a surprise” in a video posted a video on social media.

“We’re getting great reports from the doctors – this is a great hospital, Walter Reed. The work they so is absolutely amazing and I want to thank them all: the nurses, the doctors – everybody here” the President began.

I’ve also gotten to meet some of the soldiers and the first responders, and what a group. I also think we’re going to pay a little surprise to some of the great patriots that we have out on the street and they’ve been out there a long time and they’ve got Trump flags and they love our country so — I’m telling anybody but you, but I’m about to make a little surprise visit.”

“It’s been a very interesting journey,” Trump continued. “I learned a lot about COVID. I learned it by really going to school. This is the real school. This isn’t the let’s read the books school. And I get it, and I understand it. And it’s a very interesting thing.”

Assistant to the President and White House Deputy Chief of Staff for Communications Dan Scavino – best known as the president’s social media specialist – posted pictures of the president’s drive-by greeting. Since his admission to the hospital on Friday, hundreds of Trump supporters have gathered for an around-the-clock rally in support of the Commander-in-Chief.

Earlier in the day, Trump’s doctor said he “continued to improve” and suggested he could be discharged as early as Monday.
