Rep. Bob Good Uses Clash with Spanberger to Highlight Her ‘Radical’ Stance

Representative Bob Good (R-VA-05) is highlighting how “radical” Representative Abigail Spanberger (D-VA-07) is by citing the recent incident where Spanberger cursed at him at the Virginia congressional delegation meeting with Governor Glenn Youngkin last week.

Good said on The John Fredericks Show that while the congressmen were presenting feedback to Youngkin, “two members of the delegation decided to take that time to attack the governor for his common-sense, parents-first, children-first policies.”

“And you had the radical Abigail Spanberger, who votes 100 percent of the time with Nancy Pelosi, Joe Biden, and AOC take her time to attack the governor, not to question him, but attack him and debate him and challenge him.”

Good said, “This is supposed to be one of the quote unquote ‘moderates’; at least that’s how she presents herself at election time.”

He said he thanked Youngkin for the policies.

“And then I said, ‘This is the party that supports surgical removal of genitals and body parts of children, irreparable damage and harm of minor children. They support this. They won’t condemn this criminal child abuse,’ and she screamed out of course, and said, ‘That’s an effing lie.'”

Spanberger has gotten high-profile attention for criticizing Democrats for the defund the police narrative, and has broken with Pelosi on some votes including not voting for Pelosi to be Speaker of the House in 2021. Spanberger is in a competitive race with conservative Republican Yesli Vega, and Cook Political Report rates the race lean Democratic. One of the main Republican talking points in the race is that Spanberger is not the moderate she claims to be because she doesn’t break with Democrats very often.

“Ultimately we all have the right to believe what we want to believe and to make decisions as adults, but to do that to children – and that’s what set off the radical Abigail Spanberger, was me defending Governor Youngkin’s common-sense policies and saying you don’t have to be doing surgery on children,” Good said.

“And then, she swears at you because she’s a liar,” The Virginia Star’s Publisher John Fredericks said. “She acts like a moderate, nice enough lady, good mom, yay. But then as soon as she leaves the district, she goes up I-95, she rolls up the windows in her chauffeured limousine with the tint on the glass, she hits D.C. and she becomes AOC D.C., Nancy Pelosi, she votes 100 percent with them. She takes their money, then every year after session she pops off to The New York Times and says her party is too radical.”

A spokesperson for Spanberger didn’t return a request for comment.
