To add some verified facts to this article…

Wilson county schools used this money last year to pay for summer school….yes folks, summer school isn’t an automatic thing every year. They also used the money to pay for an after school tutoring program for students. In addition, when the federal government ended 10 days of COVID 10 sick pay for teachers, Wilson count schools used that money to extend the program. Not a dime went to the union. The teacher’s union is mostly neutered in Tennessee anyway.

So, readers, don’t automatically transfer everything that’s going on in Vermont to ever county in Tennessee.

John, you may be right but many Tennessee school districts used the money to hire additional staff, pay bonuses and in some cases increase salaries. This begs the question of who is going to pay for all of these additions/increases next year? I will give you one guess to answer that. Oh, I will just give you the answer – we taxpayers are on the hook for all of that additional cost next year and forever.
