VA-07 Candidate Reeves Launches TV Ad Highlighting Service, Criticizing Biden, and Saying He’ll Finish What Trump Started

State Senator Bryce Reeves (R-Spotsylvania) is launching his first television ad in the VA-07 GOP nomination battle.

“My whole life has been about service: serving God on missions abroad, serving in the Army and as a narcotics detective here at home. Putting people first is something Joe Biden doesn’t know a thing about,” Reeves said in the ad launched Wednesday. “Inflation, immigration, and Ukraine: he’s got no plan.”

Reeves’ campaign said they’re starting off with a six-figure ad buy, and that they will continue to have a television presence through Election Day. A Reeves press release says that in the ad, the candidate “offers a vision of how to get our country back on track.”

As a state senator who has previously run in a statewide race, Reeves entered the race as the front runner with good name recognition, but veteran Derrick Anderson, Prince William County Supervisor Yesli Vega, and Stafford County Supervisor Crystal Vanuch have all proven themselves competitive financially.

Of the three competitive congressional midterm races in Virginia, VA-07 is neither a sure thing nor a long shot, and whoever wins the support of Republicans in the nomination will then have to defeat two-term Congresswoman Abigail Spanberger (D-VA-07), a former CIA officer who has positioned herself as a moderate.

Those four candidates for the Republican nomination are all touting their pro-military and pro-law enforcement stances while hitting Democrats on issues including the economy and the border, and some of them are emphasizing their links to former President Donald Trump and his base.

Reeves’ ad mentions his role as a Trump VA co-chair.

“President Trump showed us how to stand up for the principles and values that make America great. I’m ready to finish what he started, and serve again,” Reeves’ ad concludes.
