Virginia Republicans Gather in Video to Nominate President Trump to a Second Term Ahead of National Convention

In a boisterous video Wednesday, Virginia’s Republican delegates gathered to formally announce their nomination of Donald J. Trump to a second term in 2020.

All 46 of the delegation’s votes went to President Trump.

The nomination announcement at the national convention is a proud tradition held by both Republicans and Democrats.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, however, the quadrennial formality was moved from the floor of a convention hall to a local campaign office in Virginia Beach.

The Republican National Convention is set to kick off on Monday, August 24.
