YouTube Removes Former President Trump’s Press Conference Announcing Big Tech Lawsuits

Youtube removed a video posted by the America First Policy Institute, which captured former President Trump’s press conference announcing a class action lawsuit against Big Tech giants.

President and CEO of the America First Policy Institute Brooke Rollins, who joined Trump at the press conference, argued that the video’s removal is yet another instance of the censorship of conservatives.

“To argue that Big Tech oligarchs are not conspiring against those who espouse beliefs contrary to their version of “factual” flies in the face of logic. The actions taken against not only AFPI but our friends at CPAC are further evidence that Big Tech will stop at nothing to silence their detractors and trample on the First Amendment rights of ALL Americans,” she said in a statement.

The removal of the video comes after Trump announced a series of lawsuits — backed by the AFPI — aimed to protect the First Amendment Rights of U.S. citizens. The lawsuits focus on Google, Facebook, and Twitter.

“We’re asking the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida to order an immediate halt to social media companies’ illegal, shameful censorship of the American people – and that’s exactly what they are doing. We’re demanding for an end to the shadow-banning; a stop to the silencing; and a stop to the blacklisting, banishing, and canceling that you know so well. Our case will prove that this censorship is unlawful, its unconstitutional, and it’s completely un-American,” Trump said

Throughout his presidency, Trump often sought to limit the reach and censorship by various social media platforms.

In an effort to enhance First Amendment rights, Trump signed an executive order that ended federal funding for various social media platforms that chose to censor users’ political views.
