Most Voters Think Joe Biden Participated in Hunter Biden’s Business Dealings: Poll

by Madeleine Hubbard

Most registered voters say they think that President Joe Biden participated in the business dealings of his son, Hunter Biden, according to a survey that comes as House Republicans continue their impeachment inquiry into allegations that the current president abused his office to benefit his family.

While 40% of voters say that Joe Biden did not participate in his son’s business dealings, 60% say that he did, according to a survey released Monday by Harvard CAPS / Harris poll.

The poll is sharply divided by party lines. For example, 39% of Democrats say the president participated in his son’s business dealings, as do 81% of Republicans and 59% of independents.

Meanwhile, 61% of Democrats say he did not participate, compared to 19% of Republicans and 41% of independents.

This survey was conducted with 2,851 registered U.S. voters from Nov. 15-16. The margin of error was not immediately available.

The results come as House Republicans continue an impeachment inquiry launched in September against Biden.

“Simply put, the American people deserve to know that public offices are not for sale and that the federal government is not being used to cover up the actions of a politically-connected family,” then-House Speaker Kevin McCarthy wrote as he explained his reasons for the inquiry.

McCarthy told Fox News this week that the investigation has uncovered more facts and has “moved even closer because now we’ve got the subpoenas going in to get the bank statements.”

Reps. James Comer, Jim Jordan and Jason Smith, the lawmakers leading the investigation, said they discovered evidence indicating that the Justice Department “obstructed” a probe of the first family and that the president’s family collected at least $15 million in foreign funds.

The House Oversight and Accountability Committee signed subpoenas earlier this month for first son Hunter Biden, President Joe Biden’s brother James Biden and business associate Rob Walker.
