Far-Left Southern Poverty Law Center Holds over $160 Million in Offshore Bank Accounts

The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), a far-left hate group that specializes in smearing right-wing groups and individuals, is currently holding over $160 million of its assets in offshore bank accounts, according to the Washington Free Beacon.

The revelation comes from the most recent financially-audited statements, which show about $162 million in such foreign accounts as of October 21st of last year. The group raised about $108 million over the course of a year between November 2019 and October 2020, which was up $11 million from their previous year’s total.

As of now, the SPLC currently has approximately $588 million in overall assets. Although the group claims that this is standard practice for many nonprofits, there are other prominent American nonprofits that do not invest in offshore bank accounts, such as the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU).

The SPLC’s primary function in recent years has been identifying alleged “hate groups,” which essentially just consists of every right-wing organization in the country. They have baselessly accused conservative nonprofits of being on the same level as the Ku Klux Klan, with their propaganda directly leading to a domestic terrorist attack on the Family Research Council, a Christian organization based in Washington, D.C., with the gunman admitting that he was inspired to carry out his actions by the SPLC.

In more recent years, the SPLC has been involved in numerous other far-left causes, including its own “Voting Rights Practice Group,” which targets southern states that it believes, without evidence, to be guilty of “state-sponsored voter suppression.” It has also shown its support for implementing far-left ideologies in public school curriculum through its “Learning for Justice” program, which aims to “create inclusive school communities” and serve as a “catalyst for racial justice in the South and beyond.” The SPLC has also colluded with the Big Tech companies to deplatform so-called “hate groups” and individuals that it deems too radical, operating a “hate crime” database with funding from George Soros’ Open Society Foundation.
