Monument Avenue is a perfect setting to present history for discussion by all Virginians and all Americans. We should have added Nat Turner, Doug Wilder, Booker T. Washington, Sally Hemmings and other Black notables to the Avenue to showcase our rich and changing history, not tear down what we disagree with.
