Commentary: Jim Jordan Must Be Winning The Race For Speaker

Jim Jordan

Let us help you understand what’s going on with the phony scandal being ginned up against Rep. Jim Jordan, the consensus conservative choice to succeed RINO Paul Ryan as Speaker of the House.

NBC News published an article on Tuesday, quoting Mike DiSabato and Dunyasha Yetts, two former Ohio State University wrestlers, claiming that when Jim Jordan worked as assistant wrestling coach at OSU, he ignored sexual abuse carried out by a university physician named Richard Strauss.

Our friend Chuck Ross of the Daily Caller has documented that the two former wrestlers accusing Rep. Jordan of ignoring the sexual misconduct by a university physician more than two decades ago have a history of failed business dealings, lawsuits, harassment allegations, and in the case of one accuser, an 18-month prison sentence for fraud.

Ross reports one of the former wrestlers, Mike DiSabato, is also being accused by the widow of a Marine who was killed in combat in Iraq of intimidating and bullying her over a memorial fund set up in her husband’s name.

“I question the intent, the authenticity, the verity, that Mike DiSabato shares in any of his words or actions,” Karen Mendoza, the wife of Ray Mendoza — a former teammate of DiSabato’s who was killed in 2005 — said in a statement.

Jordan, a two-time NCAA wrestling champion, denied back in April that he knew about Strauss’s alleged activities. But Yetts told NBC News that Jordan was either a “liar” or taking part in a cover-up of the abuse. DiSabato called Jordan a “coward.”

Jordan, a leading House conservative and candidate for Speaker, has vehemently denied the allegations, saying that he was never told of sexual abuse against athletes during his stint at OSU, which stretched from 1986 to 1994. He said he would have taken action had he known about any abuse by Strauss, who killed himself in 2005.

That two creeps might be looking for a payday is no surprise given the millions properly paid-out for the documented abuse in the Penn State and women’s gymnastics sexual abuse scandals is no surprise, but the timing of this has interesting political angles as well.

Dr. Strauss is long dead having killed himself in 2005, so he can’t be questioned about the allegations or offer any defense – if one is needed.

And interestingly enough, looking through the articles about the allegations you can’t find any mention of head coach Russ Hellickson’s name, who would have been the logical person to whom allegations of abuse should have been reported, if they occurred.

But are plenty of unsubstantiated allegations that Jim Jordan “should have known.”

And then there was this comment by Speaker Ryan’s office: “These are serious allegations and issues,” Ryan’s spokesman Doug Andres said. “The university has rightfully initiated a full investigation into the matter. The speaker will await the findings of that inquiry.”

If that’s the standard one might properly ask what Paul Ryan knew about former Speaker Dennis Hastert’s history of sexual misconduct when he voted to elect him Speaker, or what he knew about Republican Whip Steve Scalise’s associations with David Duke and other white supremacists when he shepherded him into his House leadership team.

However, “These are serious allegations and issues” is not the test one uses in an investigation, it is evidence that counts – and there is none against Jim Jordan.

Even more interestingly, guess who Jordan’s RINO political enemies in Ohio have chosen to lead the “investigation” into these unsubstantiated 30-year old charges?

Perkins Coie, the same law firm that commissioned the fake “dirty dossier” against President Trump and also represents the Democratic National Committee, the Hillary Clinton campaign, and paid Fusion GPS millions of dollars to compile the fake dossier.

And not only that, our friend Jordan Schachtel reports that T. Markus Funk who is the Perkins Coie point man for the smear operation against Jim Jordan served in Clinton Department of Justice under Pat Fitzgerald, and Fitzgerald is now James Comey’s attorney, best friend and godfather to one of Comey’s children.

Talk about a conflict of interest.

The timing of these allegations, their specious nature and the focus on what Jim Jordan “should have known” smells to high heaven of a political hit by Jordan’s RINO enemies.  This is the lowest and vilest attack yet on a conservative seeking a House leadership post and it tells us the Swamp thinks Jordan is winning the race for Speaker.

The toll-free Capitol Switchboard is (1-866-220-0044) we urge CHQ readers and friends to call Representative Jim Jordan to tell him in the face of these vile attacks he should redouble his campaign for Speaker.
