Another set of classified documents were found at President Joe Biden’s Delaware home on Thursday evening, the White House revealed on Saturday.
“Five additional pages with classification markings” were found during proceedings regarding earlier-discovered classified documents, Senior White House adviser Ian Sams said on Saturday.
The discovery comes after a set of classified materials was found in Biden’s garage at his Delaware home on Wednesday; another set of documents was discovered late last year at a former private office of Biden’s, with the existence of those documents becoming public this month.
Sams in a statement to Mediate said he had traveled to Delaware on Thursday of this week “to facilitate providing the document the President’s personal counsel found on Wednesday to the Justice Department.”
“While I was transferring it to the DOJ officials who accompanied me, five additional pages with classification markings were discovered among the material with it, for a total of six pages,” Sams said. “The DOJ officials with me immediately took possession of them.”
Attorney General Merrick Garland earlier this week announced the appointment of a special counsel to investigate the circumstances surrounding the classified document discoveries.
Sams in his statement on Saturday reaffirmed that the White House “will cooperate with the newly-appointed Special Counsel.”
