Governor Brian Kemp of Georgia has officially launched his 2022 campaign, according to a press release from his campaign.
“Brian Kemp has a strong, conservative record of fighting for life, standing up for law enforcement, cutting taxes, protecting lives and livelihoods against the COVID-19 pandemic, and defending election integrity,” Kemp’s campaign manager said in the statement.
Kemp has been the center of criticism from some due to his handling of the 2020 election. Critics argue the Georgia governor did not do enough to address concerns over the security of the election.
Recently, however, Kemp joined the Georgia State Legislature to pass a law to strengthen the overall security of elections throughout the state — including limiting the opportunity to cast ballots illegally.
But former President Trump argued the legislation does not go far enough.
“Georgia’s election reform law is far too weak and soft to ensure real ballot integrity,” he said. “Governor Brian Kemp and Georgia Secretary of State should have eliminated no-excuse, widespread mass Mail-In Voting, gotten rid of the dangerous and unsecure Drop-Boxes, and should have kept and expanded Signature Verification to do matches against the historical voter file, among other things,” he added.
Trump has remained critical of Kemp.
“He was the one who, along with Governor Brian Kemp, stopped the Georgia State Senate from doing the job they wanted to do on the 2020 Presidential Election Fraud,” Trump said in a recent statement celebrating the decision by Lieutenant Governor Geoff Duncan to not seek another term.
Additionally, Kemp faces a GOP primary challenge from Vernon Jones. Jones is a former Democratic state lawmaker. He switched parties and has pledged his loyalty to President Trump.
Stacey Abrams is also expected to launch another campaign for Governor. Kemp defeated her in 2018.

Brian Kemp & Raffensperger are responsible for Biden Osoff & Warnock being where they are today. Kemp stabbed every Georgia republican in the back when he & Raffensperger made deal with Abrams on absentee ballots & drop boxes without the legislatures or peoples consent. Then after fraudulent election was exposed he refused to call a special session of the legislature. Now six months after 11/3 he still denies election fraud & still refuses to call for a forensic audit of Ballots cast in Fulton or any other county. The man sold us the state & our country out & is still doing it today, the man is a fraud a crook & he sold us out.
