Sen. Bob Menendez, D-N.J., is expected to resign his office on Aug. 20 following his conviction in a federal corruption trial, according to a report.
New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy, a Democrat, will choose an interim replacement after receiving Menendez’s resignation.Â
A Manhattan federal jury found Menendez guilty on all charges on July 16. The charges included fraud, bribery, acting as a foreign agent and obstruction.
