Virginia U.S. Rep. Morgan Griffith Predicts House Plan for ‘One Big, Beautiful Bill’ Will Eventually Lead to Two Packages of Legislation

U.S. Representative Morgan Griffith (R-VA-09) on Wednesday was skeptical the House of Representatives would successfully pass “one big, beautiful bill” containing several policies championed by President-elect Donald Trump, as Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA-04) has suggested lawmakers will pass before April.

Griffith made the remarks during an appearance on “The John Fredericks Show,” telling host John Fredericks, who publishes The Virginia Star, that Congress would run out of time to build consensus, and that House Republicans would settle for passing two bills to accomplish Trump’s agenda.

John Curran, the James City business consultant who launched his campaign to become Virginia’s next lieutenant governor last year, said on Monday that he is the Republican candidate most closely aligned with President-elect Donald Trump, and vowed to use the platform associated with the elected position to challenge Democrats who obstruct bipartisan progress in the General Assembly.

Curran made the remarks during an appearance on “The John Fredericks Show,” telling host John Fredericks, who is publisher of The Virginia Star, that he hopes to use the lieutenant governor’s “soapbox” to challenge career politicians.

Former President Trump Calls In to Bannon-Headlined ‘Take Back Virginia’ Rally

Steve Bannon headlined a get-out-the-vote rally for the MAGA base in Henrico on Wednesday evening, where speakers included Senator Amanda Chase (R-Chesterfield) and Arizona State House Representative Mark Finchem, who is using 2020 election audits in that state in his campaign for Arizona Secretary of State. But the biggest reaction from the crowd came when former President Donald Trump called in for about five minutes.

“Glenn Youngkin is a great gentleman,” Trump said. “You have a chance to get one of the most successful businessmen in the country, and he did it in a quiet professional way, in Glenn Youngkin. I hope — he and others by the way — but I hope Glenn gets in there  and he’ll straighten out Virginia, and he’ll lower taxes, all of the things that we want a governor to do, and I really believe that Virginia is very, very, winnable.”

Attorney Lin Wood stated that the investigations into election fraud would clear the path for President Donald Trump to be inaugurated come January.
