RNC Strikes Deal with Detroit to Boost Number of Republican Poll Workers Ahead of 2024 Election

The Republican National Committee (RNC) on Friday secured a settlement from the city of Detroit, which includes hiring more Republican poll workers ahead of next month’s presidential election.

The settlement comes after the RNC, Michigan GOP, and chairs of Wayne County Republican committee sued Detroit in August over hiring over seven times more Democratic poll workers than Republican ones in the state’s primary election, in an alleged violation of state law.

The chair of the Republican National Committee (RNC) confirmed the party considers Virginia “competitive” for former President Donald Trump in his campaign to retake the White House in November, pointing toward the 2021 victory by Governor Glenn Youngkin as evidence conservatives can still win statewide elections in the commonwealth.

RNC Chair Michael Whatley told the Richmond Times-Dispatch on Wednesday that Virginia will be competitive for the Trump campaign after Youngkin showed “how a Republican can win Virginia” with his 2021 victory.

Trump Campaign, RNC Announce $65.6 Million Fundraising Haul

Former President Donald Trump’s campaign and affiliated groups announced on Wednesday they brought in over $65.6 million during the month of March.

The haul includes funds raised by the Trump campaign, the Republican National Committee (RNC) and their affiliated entities, according to a press release. Trump’s fundraising apparatus, which has been lagging behind President Joe Biden’s, also announced topping $93.1 million in cash on hand going into April.
