Welcome to the Thursday edition of our daily Virginia Trump campaign update! We will provide our readers with daily updates on the Trump Virginia campaign from today to November 3 (and after…if need be!).
It’s officially 39 days until the election on November 3 – and four days until President Trump and Joe Biden square off in the first presidential debate.
A new poll out Thursday by the Julie Ford Wason Center for Public Policy at Christopher Newport University showed the race for The White House in Virginia has tightened. The poll shows Biden with a 48-43 lead, with an eight-point advantage among the more enthusiastic voters. The poll also said the five-point margin is similar to the polling between President Trump and Hillary Clinton in 2016. Still, the consensus is that the Biden-Harris campaign continues to overlook the Commonwealth, and the Trump Team Virginia campaign is active in making sure the president emerges victorious both here and in the overall electoral college race.
The President of the United States is coming to Virginia for a rally TONIGHT, September 25, at Newport News/Williamsburg International Airport.
Doors for the rally will open at 6:00 p.m. and the event begins at 9:00 p.m. John Fredericks, chairman of the Trump Virginia Delegation, will be the emcee.
Rich Anderson, the chairman of the Republican Party of Virginia, said in a teleconference with reporters on Thursday that the decision to have the president’s rally in Newport News had a couple different meanings.
The first: “It definitely means that Virginia is in play,” he said. “The president wouldn’t be coming to Virginia if he didn’t think he’d have an opportunity to win.”
Anderson noted secondly that holding the rally in Newport News allowed for supporters along the state line in North Carolina, another battleground state, to make the trip.
The Virginia Star will have full coverage of the president’s appearance.
If you can’t make it to the rally in person, you will be able to watch online for free on Team Trump’s Facebook and Twitter accounts, on the Donald J. Trump Facebook, YouTube, and Twitch accounts, and at www.donaldjtrump.com/online.
