Team Trump Virginia Campaign Update: Monday, September 14

President Trump rally

Welcome to the first edition of our daily Virginia Trump campaign update! We will provide our readers with daily updates on the Trump Virginia campaign from today to November 3 (and after…if need be!).

While the Trump campaign lost Virginia to Hillary Clinton in 2016 by just under 5 points, the race tightened at the end. The Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson, a popular former western governor garnered three percent of the vote, and Independent conservative Evan McMullin – a GOP Trump protest candidate – got 1.5 percent. If Trump got 80 percent of those votes – Clinton wins by one point.

Those of us who led Trump’s campaign in Virginia (I was state chairman of the campaign) also had to fight native son Va. Senator Tim Kaine as Clinton’s V.P. and Gov. Terry McAuliffe’s Democratic machine while he was governor.

Even with all that going against us, we forced then V.P. Joe Biden and Kane to campaign across Virginia on the Sunday and Monday before the election. That means they weren’t in Wisconsin or Michigan.

The 2020 Race

Forget the phony fake news polls from CNU and Roanoke College. They are a joke. As of today, this is a 3.5 percent race according to our likely voter analysis. We have registered thousands of new voters in Southwest, Southeast and Southside Virginia, and our ground game dwarfs that of the Biden campaign.

Trump Team Virginia, led by our state director Justin Rice, has trained over 5,000 Trump for President volunteers, with a goal of 7,000 by October 31. Team Trump has contacted via phone or door knock, over 1.9 million voters so far. We anticipate a much bigger number over the next 50 days.

The Trump campaign is safely knocking on thousands of doors every night across Virginia. By contrast, the Biden campaign is forced to bow to Covid-19 fear mongering—knocking on doors is counter to their narrative – how can you door knock while keeping schools closed? You can’t–so they don’t. We believe our ground game is worth two points on Election-Day.

This is a very competitive race.

Check back every day for Trump Virginia campaign updates! If you want to join our volunteer team or if you need signs email me or Justin Rice.
